Another day, another patio to cover with smooth-operating vertical solar shades. Mr. Van Hohenheim had a typical rectangular patio with a supported roof and wanted shades on the three open sides of it.
We didn’t want to ruin the nice, comfortable handrail surfaces, but the support beams for the patio roof were sturdy enough for our purposes. We installed some sliding tracks with locking clamps every foot along their heights, and four roller systems on the ceiling overhead. Each of the patio shades we installed (one for each small end of the patio, and two flanking the entrance) has a drawstring. Mr. Van Hohenheim wanted independent control of each roller shade set and opted to not motorize them.
