Mr. Foote only got any use out of his studio’s side windows during the busiest days, and the rest of the time they made him nervous. Some strong window shutters on each pane would put his mind at ease.
Since the windows that needed covering were small, we fitted each one with a single-leafed swinging shutter. The window frames were sturdy enough for us to screw and rivet in the hinges with ease. We also extended the lower sills to help distribute the window shutters’ weight and gave each one a sturdy deadbolt lock.
